I have been creating art in various forms, including photography, since childhood. Growing up in the heart of California's Central Valley, I pursued my love of art by earning a B.A. degree in painting and drawing from California State University, Fresno and an M.F.A. degree in studio art from the University of California, Davis. I have held jobs in advertising, education and sales, but it was while photographing a horse drive in Colorado that I knew I wanted to turn my skills and love of photography into my career. I think of each photograph as a piece of art, and enjoy bringing the details and composition to life in an artistic way.
While being busy with my photography business the last seven years, I have recently been hired as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Photography at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, CA. There I will be able to share my experience and knowledge with students and hopefully inspire many of our future professional photographers.
I started my photography career as primarily an equine photographer, and in the last several years I have worked mostly as a wedding photographer, but my services run the gamut and include the following: equine photography (shows, sale horses, farm calls); individual, family and high school senior portraits; weddings and engagements; newborn and maternity; food and restaurant and pet photography. I have been honored to work as the Official Photographer for many equine organizations in California's Central Valley including; The Western States Horse Expo, Valley Cow Horse Association, West Coast Reining Horse, and the National Stock Horse Association. My equine photos have been featured in regional and national equine publications including the renowned national publication- Western Horseman.
I also tutor students on a one-on-one basis, so if you need to sharpen up your photo skills or are new to photography, please give me a shout and I'd be happy to set up a meeting with you.
